Outgoing Mayor today: he was elected against all odds in 2016, when he defeated the dem Raffaele Del Vecchio, today with him. “Against me – he declared – there was an obscene, immoral and unnatural Noah’s Ark that went from the far left to the far right: I was allied only with the citizens”. Because the ballot in Benevento, won against Luigi Diego Perifano candidate supported by the Democratic Party (not all) and officially supported by the alternative left of Angelo Moretti and in a manner unofficial probably also from that residual piece of right came out defeated in the first round, he had all the trappings of a referendum on Mastella. In reality it fits little: it is more reminiscent of one of those provincial bombers who, even when they seem boiled and wear shirts of teams no longer emblazoned, leave him half a meter dry. Contrasted precisely with his advanced age and his over forty-year presence on the political scene, he replied at the end of the electoral campaign, citing Micheal Jordan and the famous phrase about wrong shots.
He says it’s the latest, but many don’t believe him to tell the truth. At the age of 74 he still gets a paw Clemente Mastella, re-elected mayor of Benevento to the ballot with 53 percent of the votes.
